As students return to schools in the autumn term, what will the “recovery curriculum” look like, and what does this mean for the most able learners? How can we ensure they receive ambitious, challenging, stimulating teaching and learning, with support to catch up on missed time in school and to build on new skills and interests developed during lockdown?

Join us at this secondary-phase member meetup to hear how other schools are approaching curriculum planning, and to share your own experience. The session will open with a presentation from a NACE Associate, followed by time to discuss and share ideas with peers in small groups. Areas addressed may include:

  • Challenges and opportunities raised during lockdown
  • Key areas of focus for the autumn term
  • Implications for curriculum design, sequencing and planning
  • Broader questions for curriculum review
  • Maintaining ambitious, challenging provision for the more able

When registering for the session, you will be asked to share an example of how your school is approaching curriculum planning for September, as well as identifying key issues you would like the meetup to address.

Please note: To enable as many of our member schools to participate as possible, a maximum of two staff members per school may register for the live event. Other staff members will be able to watch the session recording afterwards.
