The creator of the TASC Framework for thinking and problem-solving, Belle Wallace has been an influential figure in studies of children’s thinking processes and cognitive development. She has a longstanding commitment to re-addressing and perfecting the interactions of learning and teaching, and to working closely with teaching staff to understand the needs of the individual child. Belle has served on the Executive Committee of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, has been editor of Gifted Education International since 1981, and is a former president of NACE. Her many publications include a series of resource books to help teachers develop children’s problem-solving and thinking skills through national curriculum topics published by Routledge. She has also recently edited the SAGE Handbook of Gifted and Talented Education 2018, working with Dorothy Sisk and John Senior as co-editors.
