“A school’s curriculum should also provide stretch and challenge for more able and talented learners and enable them to progress along the continuum of learning at a pace appropriate to them.”
– Curriculum for Wales: designing your curriculum (January 2020)

What does the new Curriculum for Wales mean for more able and talented (MAT) learners? How can schools develop a curriculum vision that ensures high-quality challenge and opportunity for the most able, driving up aspirations and outcomes for all?

NACE is seeking to work with a small number of QI and Innovation schools to explore these questions. Working remotely to create a community of learning, the group will share experiences and develop approaches, with a focus on the humanities area of learning and experience (AoLE).

Project timeframes and the format of development will be agreed in partnership with participating schools.

To express your interest in being part of this initiative, send an email to info@nace.co.uk by 31 March 2020.

Applications should include:
  • School name
  • Lead contact (name and job title)
  • Phase / focus
  • Work to date on curriculum / MAT
  • Questions you would like to explore
  • Useful timeframes for this work
