NACE Challenge Ambassador Schools

Challenge Ambassador Schools

Launched in September 2022, the NACE Challenge Ambassador Schools programme recognises the sustained excellence of schools accredited with the Challenge Award on three or more occasions, which have made significant contributions to NACE’s CPD, research and resource-sharing initiatives.

Challenge Ambassador Schools

What are the benefits?

Schools that are successful in attaining Challenge Ambassador School status will have the opportunity to join a network of similarly minded school leaders across the UK and beyond, facilitating the exchange of effective practice, and supporting continued school improvement.

Schools that meet the Ambassador School requirements will also benefit from a reduced reaccreditation fee (see below), and in some cases a shorter reaccreditation day schedule, to reflect their sustained engagement with NACE between accreditations.

How does it work?

If you have already been accredited with the Challenge Award on two or more occasions you will have the opportunity to apply to be a NACE Challenge Ambassador School during your subsequent accreditations.

During the three years between accreditations, you will need to engage with NACE in a variety of ways, accumulating a minimum of 15 Ambassador School Credits (ASCs).

Engagement is not compulsory; schools can also continue to apply for standard Challenge Award reaccreditation as previously.

Southend High School for Boys is thrilled to have secured its fifth successive NACE Challenge Award accreditation. The Award serves as a ‘kitemark’ confirming the outstanding quality of our educational provision – inspiring, supporting and developing the most able learners. Working towards the Challenge Award provides real impetus as we develop innovative approaches in and beyond the classroom. The new Challenger Ambassador status places Southend High School for Boys as a national beacon school: a leading example, a pioneer provider and a focal centre for outreach.

Southend High School for Boys
Our school community is incredibly proud to be awarded the Challenge Award for the fourth time and to be recognised as the first NACE Challenge Ambassador School. Being involved with NACE over the last 10 years has been integral to the implementation of our ‘Challenge for All’ ethos. Our curricula have been designed and implemented with the more able in mind so all children receive a learning experience that is deeply rooted in enriching knowledge.
