Working with NACE as a group of schools
For multi-academy trusts (MATs), alliances and school clusters, NACE offers a shared framework to develop
high-quality provision for more able learners and to embed an ethos and culture of high expectations for all.
Through this focus, we believe all young people will have opportunities to flourish.

Challenge Development Programme
Ideal for groups of schools seeking to review and improve challenge for all with a focus on more able provision: the Challenge Development Programme provides a robust and comprehensive framework. This promotes a consistency in approach, while allowing the flexibility for each school to work at their own pace and in line with their own context.
The programme is exclusively open to NACE members and can lead to accreditation through the NACE Challenge Award.
Groups of schools working with the programme can benefit from shared consultancy and/or CPD to support this process – see below.

Consultancy
We offer consultancy to support schools working with the Challenge Development Programme, or on any aspect of policy and practice relating to more able and challenge.
For MATs and other groups, we can provide a shared consultancy session or series, allowing the costs to be shared between a number of schools. This is particularly effective when the group is new to working with a shared framework – such as the Challenge Development Programme or NACE Curriculum Audit – supporting effective implementation across the group.
For shared consultancy, we would recommend both the more able lead and a member of SLT attend from each school in the group.

CPD
Our CPD sessions can be delivered in-school or remotely, to support an identified area for development in more able and challenge provision.
We can develop a CPD session or series for MATs and other groups of schools, allowing the cost to be spread. This can be an effective way to embed effective approaches to ensure challenge for all learners, and can also be tailored to focus on specific areas such as questioning, independent learning, metacognition, or oracy and discourse.
