Challenging times: how to engage with the news as part of cognitively challenging learning

Free live webinar: open to all schools

3.45 - 4.45pm, Thursday 30 June

Hosted by NACE in partnership with The Day, this free live webinar will explore how schools can engage with the news as part of cognitively challenging learning – to stimulate and develop critical thinking, debate, literacy skills, real-world understanding and global perspectives, and challenge learners to think hard.

Facilitated by NACE CEO Rob Lightfoot, the webinar will feature a discussion with Richard Addis, founder of The Day, a daily digital newspaper for use in schools. Richard will share The Day’s “six steps to discovery” model, outlining the ethos behind this inquiry-led learning framework, for use across all phases and in a range of contexts.

There will be an opportunity to submit questions before and during the session. Attendees will also receive the “six steps to discovery” handout, as well as school case studies for additional ideas and inspiration.
