Unlock the transformative potential of early reading in this engaging one-day course designed for EYFS and KS1 teachers.

Explore how high-quality reading experiences in the early years build not only essential literacy skills but also confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Through practical strategies, evidence-based insights, and a focus on language-rich environments, you’ll discover how to nurture fluent, motivated readers from the very start.

Whether you're new to teaching or looking to refresh your approach, this course will empower you to make every reading moment count.

Course content will include:

  •

      • What the research tells us about the importance of reading during the first few years of life;
      • How reading helps children to develop emotional literacy alongside academic achievement;
      • Practical examples of engaging reading strategies.

There will also be opportunities throughout the day for you to share current priorities or concerns in relation to the role, and to plan your next steps in leading this important agenda.

If travel is a barrier to attendance, please contact cpd@nace.co.uk to arrange remote access.
