Delivered remotely over three 75-minute interactive sessions, this comprehensive course is designed to support NQTs and early career teachers in developing an understanding of how to identify and meet the needs of more able learners.
It draws on the latest evidence in the field and provides practical examples that can be used in the classroom.
This course will support beginning teachers in understanding how to identify more able learners and how to provide effective, challenging teaching and learning for these pupils. Each session will include tried and tested examples,
give advice, provoke thought, and allow colleagues to talk through the challenges they face in a supportive online community. By the end of the programme, participating early career teachers will have explored the issues, learned
how to improve planning and delivery, and then be able to sustain effective teaching for more able pupils.
The course will reference the Early Career Framework and Teacher Standards, as well as the NACE Essentials guide for beginning teachers. Following each session, participants will be set a gap task, designed to support practical
in-school application of the course content.
