Where did September go?! 🍂
It’s certainly vanished in a swirl of autumn mist and leaves here at NACE HQ… We’ve had a rustling, bustling, busy start to the year, and have enjoyed speaking to and seeing so many of you already this term.
Our first webinar of the year brought over 100 of you together online to hear from NACE Associate Amanda Hubball about the A-Z of Metacognition, while our autumn term member meetup saw us buzzing about books at the brilliant CLPE Library in London. Our Network Groups are also underway, and we're looking forward to launching our new Member Spotlight series (details below).
 |
Alongside the usual recap of new resources and upcoming events and opportunities, this month we are delighted to share our first Impact Report: summarising our vision, mission, what we do and – most importantly – our impact. We’re incredibly proud of what NACE has achieved, and as members you are all key to this work. Please take a look, and share with colleagues both within and beyond your school to help us extend our impact even further in the coming year.

Who Am I Teaching? (2025) by Dr Poppy Gibson
In this book, educator Dr Poppy Gibson offers a ‘deep dive’ into some of the complexities children may bring to your classroom. The book has many school-based contributors with classroom examples. This links to our work on challenge for all and considering the needs of all learners. It aims to help us understand the diverse nature of primary school children and their experiences, so we can fully engage and support them as learners. It explores children’s development, mental health, wellbeing, community, identity, trauma, communication challenges and more. It offers practical advice for classroom teaching to ensure and enhance Quality First Teaching. It also contains a short section by NACE on the use of ‘cutaway’ in the more able section.
