Member meetup: The Power of Reading: raising achievement and challenge for all children Free meetup for NACE members Friday 3 October 2025 (10:00am – 3:00pm) CLPE Literacy Library, Webber Street, London SE1 8QW All children have the right to be literate. At this free event for NACE members, advisors from the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) will share the research behind the Power of Reading – the CLPE’s evidence-led, book-based English curriculum which is proven to close the disadvantage gap. You will have the opportunity to reflect on the impact of inclusive approaches, designed to deepen reader response and develop self-efficacy in children as writers. Members from both the NACE and the CLPE communities will also report back on their experiences to date. This NACE member meetup will bring together school leaders and teachers from across our community. Hosted by the CLPE in their magnificent Literacy Library – home to 23,000 children’s books and resources – the day will include plenty of time to reflect, discuss and share ideas with peers, developing your understanding of how your pupils can develop a love of both reading and writing. This event is free and exclusively for staff at current NACE member schools. Register as soon as possible to secure your free place.
