Free challenge cards: use for challenge of the day or week, challenge activities in school, challenge quizzes at home, and more…
Created by NACE Trustee Sue Mordecai, the NACE Challenge Cards can be used to support challenging teaching and learning for all. There are now five sets available, aimed at early years, primary (three sets) and secondary school learners.
The challenge cards are a set of slides, each presenting a challenge question or activity for your learners to complete. There are an assortment of challenge ideas spanning a variety of subject areas and skillsets: some are quite straightforward
and have one answer, some have several answers, and others are open to interpretation. The slides are accompanied by teacher notes, which provide guidance and solutions where applicable; however, please note that these are not exhaustive.
How can the challenge cards be used?
The challenge cards can be used in a variety of ways: online, in class, at home. The following are only suggestions as they are yours to use as you think best for your learners, but you could try using them for:
Challenge of the day
Challenge(s) of the week
Challenge quizzes for home learning – sent to parents/carers with notes
Challenge club activities
Hopefully the challenge questions and activities will give you further ideas for challenging your learners and also inspire them to create their own challenges.
