How to develop news literacy in schools
presented by The Day

Free live webinar, open to all schools.
Tuesday 27 February 2024
4.00 - 5.00pm

This free live webinar is presented in partnership with The Day – host of the Global Young Journalist Awards, which NACE is proud to support. The Day turns the news into lessons, to help schools engage young people with current affairs while developing key skills and knowledge for the future – including critical thinking, independent research, digital literacy, global awareness and oracy.

The session will be presented by The Day’s Matt Bosica, alongside Liz Moorse, Chief Executive at Association for Citizenship Teaching (ACT) and Shelley Peringuey, Teacher of English & Life Orientation & Deputy Headmistress, Current Affairs at Reddam House Umhlanga. It will discuss how schools can develop news literacy and related skills, across a range of phases and curriculum areas. It will use practical examples, and lessons learned, so you can take this into your classroom.

If you would like a free trial or demo of The Day, or a membership quote (The Day are currently offering a 10% discount for NACE members) do let us know on the registration form.
